Working of Air Volume Booster

The air volume booster is connected to an independent supply line and receives a low-flow pneumatic control signal from the positioner. Inside the booster, this signal applies force to one side of a diaphragm, while output pressure acts on the other side; any imbalance between the two moves the diaphragm, adjusting an internal valve to regulate the output pressure. This allows the booster to reproduce the exact signal pressure from the positioner while delivering a much higher volume of air from the independent supply, enabling the actuator to stroke faster and respond more precisely to control changes.
